BBC Artworks Scotland Documentary tonight!
Hello everyone
We’re going to be featured in the ‘Scotland Rocks at SxSW’ documentary on BBC 2 Scotland (SKY Channel 990 elsewhere in the UK), tonight at 9pm.
You can watch a wee clip of it here: http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p00hvq0n
As well as some stuff with us, it features King Creosote, Withered Hand, Bronto Skylift, Edwyn Collins, Rachel Sermanni, Unicorn Kid, The Twilight Sad, and interviews with The Proclaimers, KT Tunstall, Glasvegas and Franz Ferdinand.
Please be nice about my sunburnt face. As in: don’t mention it.
Happy watching!

FENCE RECORDS PRESENTS: FOUND + Kid Canaveral + The Pictish Trail (DJ set) + more
On Monday, September 5th, we’re putting on a special Fence Records show in London.
Now that our favourite London venue, The Luminaire, has closed, we’re going to start using a place called The Wilmington Arms – which is located in Clerkenwell, just over the road from Exmouth Market. It’s a braw pub that serves good food, nice selection of beer, and has a great wee venue next door. Perfect.
So, aye – this show will feature co-headline performances from FOUND and Kid Canaveral.
FOUND hardly need any introduction – they’re brand of experimental electronic schizoid-pop has been a staple at Fence events since the release of their second album, This Mess We Keep Reshaping. 2011 has been a big year for Tommy, Ziggy & Kev – their current album, factorycraft, came out in spring on Glasgow’s legendary Chemikal Underground label … and the summer has seen the boys hone their live skills with a slew of live dates and festivals slots under their belts. As well as a few dodgy festival curries, no doubt.
Before FOUND take to the stage, Kid Canaveral will have got everyone sweating their cardigans off. Our Edinburgh-based indie-poppers are experts at this sort of thing. We’re about to release the vinyl repressing of their fantastic debut album SHOUTING At Wildlife - so make sure you pre-order this now, so that you can sing along come September.
I’ll be DJ’ing between/after acts as The Pictish Trail … and there’s another special guest still to be announced.
Doors are at 19.30, with live music finishing by 22.30, and the place open until 23.00. Tickets are £8.50 advance / £10 on the door. There’s no postage charge, as all tickets will be kept under your name on the door.
It’s not a massive venue – so we suggest purchasing tickets now to avoid tantrums!

Feeling Festive and Shouting at Vinyl
You can also get a very, very limited edition Cassette Single of ‘And Another Thing!!’ when you pre-order ‘Shouting at Wildlife’, which is being re-released on Vinyl (with CD) on Fence Records on Monday 25th July 2011. On the flip of the tape there’s a cover of King Creosote’s ‘Missionary’. The track features an accordion intro & solo, as well as backing vocals, from Fence label boss, King Kenny Anderson himself. You can pre-order the vinyl bundle from here.
That’s pretty exciting, no?
We’re also going to be appearing on BBC 2 at 9pm on Tuesday 5th July as part of the BBC Artworks documentary following some of the Scottish artists who appeared at
the 2011 SxSW Music Festival in Austin, Texas. A wee clip of this can be seen here.
Next up: this year’s Fence Records Homegame Festival depicted in moving images by the very talented Forest of Black (who created the the beautiful Away Game video) and soundtracked by Kid Canaveral.

Tickets
Not to worry if none of these gigs are particularly near you! We’ll be announcing more festivals and shows up and down the UK in the next few weeks, so we’ll hopefully be turning up in a town near you, soon.
Is that everything? I think that’s everything.
Keep safe,
